Oh how I've waited for this day to arrive! It has certainly been a long time coming for the iPhone version of EA's free-running title Mirror's Edge to make its appearance, but the wait has certainly been worthwhile.

For those not fortunate enough to own an iPad this will be a wholly unique experience to enjoy, with a light and easy to master control system that mirrors the original game's intent to instill a true sense of 'flow' in movement. Faith is manipulated by basic swipes, gesturing up for jumps, across for changes in direction and down for slides. Combinations of these give you access to wall-runs, climbs, tic-tacs and even basic attacks that are smooth and easy to execute. Mastering your environment is key to your survival, but more importantly smooth chaining of moves will keep Faith moving at top speed, making speed trials easier to conquer.

Much like the 2008 release, the visuals are stark and bright, but the sharp clean angles hint at a world that seems out of step with reality, one that's far too controlled. The game's original soundtrack is also levered in to this mobile release to help drive the tension, however the short loops and poor audio cues put a wrench in what is an otherwise flawless presentation.

For those fortunate enough to own an iPhone 4 and not an iPad, this is without a doubt a must try title, but the small glitches and short gameplay might give pause for thought for some.
