The now and future king of JRPGs, Square Enix, has gone ahead and made my Christmas dreams come true by announcing a brand new mobile JRPG IP in Heavenstrike Rivals.

Heading to both Android and iOS for free this winter, Heavenstrike Rivals is a tactical RPG built from the ground up with mobile in mind. There'll be tappy tactical battles, PvP, over 200 characters to fight with, and a dramatic plot revolving around a pack of monsters trying to destroy a peaceful aerial kingdom.

Add in music and characters designed by Final Fantasy alumni Ryoma Ito and Ryo Yamazaki of Tactics Advance and XIV respectively and it looks like we'll have a serious JRPG on our hands when it launches later this year.
