Unison League, out right now on iOS and Android, is an innovative riff on JRPGs that challenges you to fight cooperatively with your friends in real time battles. It's highly strategy focused though, and you'll have to work tactically to unleash a powerful Unison Attack which deals massive damage to all enemies.
There's PvE in which you'll fight with four others against the AI, and far more intense guild battles. Here two teams of up to 10 players each face off against each other, with the goal being to destroy the opposing team's crystal. It sounds easy, but it requires a great deal of strategy.
Don't worry if you don't currently have any friends playing Unison League, as you can make new ones in the lobby. Here you can chat to players, perform some fun emotes, and send friend requests to anyone you like. Afterwards, you can form a team with your new allies and head off on a quest or two. There's also a separate guild lobby for more private discussions.
Unison League is very social, so you'll be pleased to learn that your character is completely customisable - down to all aspects. In fact, there are over four billion different combinations of weapons and armour currently in the game.
It's not just the appearance you can customise though. At any moment, you can change your character's class and gain a bunch of new skills and abilities. There are five base classes to select from but as you level up you'll gain access to more advanced versions.
Over in Japan, Unison League has been a huge success and frequently places in the top 15 grossing games chart in the App Store. Massive IPs like Attack on Titan and Puella Magi Madoka Magica have also collaborated with it.
Ateam is the studio responsible for Unison League. You may know it as the developer of Dark Summoner, the mega hit that reached the number one spot in both the top grossing chart in US Google Play and the downloads chart in US App Store. Three Kingdoms Smash, Derby Impact, and War of Legions are some of the other big names in its portfolio.
Unison League is available right now from the App Store, Google Play, or the Amazon Appstore in select regions. That list is set to grow soon though, as German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese versions are currently in the works.
