Part physics platformer, part puzzle, all tofu - To-Fu: The Trials of Chi by HotGen is only as hard as you want it to be, making this the perfect distraction for almost any gamer.

Your basic goal is simple - make your way to the fortune cookie by throwing yourself around the level while sticking, sliding and bouncing off the various surfaces around you. This, however, short-changes you of the challenge of flinging To-Fu around the level, avoiding traps while collecting 'chi' or attempting to reach the goal in the minimum amount of moves possible. Although some levels can be 'perfected' in a single run, many require multiple replays, forcing players to rethink how they've approached a level they've already 'solved', lending a lot of depth to something so simple as 'bouncing' between surfaces.

The cartoon dojo world of To-Fu is filled with neat special effects and visual detailing that creates a rich environment despite the somewhat repetitive themes throughout the 100 currently available levels. Light, relaxing background music is only interrupted by the mild, strained sounds of your tofu ninja being stretched and launched across the level, but you can forgive the interruption as some of the more exciting 'ricochet' levels provide a satisfying 'pwing!' as you collect everything in one jump.

Whether you're sliding down glass, bouncing off metal or avoiding laser traps while trying to get through a timed door, To-Fu: The Trials of Chi provides a challenge that scales and changes entirely depending on the goals you set out to achieve. A great pick up for those after a new puzzle platforming title to add to their collection.
