WBRU-FM has been broadcasting the best new music in Providence on the FM dial for forty years. It's a true alternative music mix, with none of the hard-edged metal music posing as alternative over the past decade. New music devotees will go for the Nine O'clock News with five brand new songs in a row at nine p.m. weeknights. Did I say five? How about twelve new tracks, on Twelve Cuts Above the Rest, Fridays at 7 p.m, where the BRU listeners decide the week's biggest songs. Need a break from all the new? There's the Retro Lunch weekdays at noon, for 95 minutes of retro alternative. Plus news and sports as only alternative music fans in Providence, Rhode Island will give it to you.
