Description
★ Best Sound Bites from the World of Sports ★Since the 1970s, sports have dominated television and changed the way we think about sports, teams and especially the individuals – players and coaches. The highlights of these sports can be seen on ESPN, sports talk shows, headline news, youtube, local news and any number of television and web sites. Who can forget the first time they witnessed John McEnroe’s tirade at an umpire in 1981 – “you cannot be serious!” Or when they watched with dropped jaw as Los Angeles Dodgers exec Al Campanis exposed his racist bent and threw away a great career as a GM. Or the shock of Jim Everett tackling tv show host Jim Rome after being taunted one too many times. Video is much more electric and immediate than the staid newspaper articles of old. The images imprint upon our memory through repetition.
What we have done is collect the best of the sports sounds bites of the last century. We cover all sports, from NFL to NBA, MLB to NASCAR, NHL to Olympics. We cover the top 10 of all time – you know what they are --- Jim Mora’s Playoffs rant, Joe Namath’s drunken flirting with Suzy Kolber, Hal McRae’s phone-tossing cussfest, Lee Elia’s profanity-laden assault on fans… But there are hundreds more. Steroid denials, HIV admissions, adultery unveiled, the blame game, etc.
Language warning.
★ About the Authors ★
Mark D. Williams and Drew Perkins are your typical sports fans. Williams is a high school teacher and author of 20+ books. Perkins is a former principal and now owns his own insurance company. They love sports and especially the absurdities that come from each.
Williams and Perkins are avid sports fans and created this app out of a love for all sports and numerous campfire debates over the top sports sound bites of all time.
We do not own the videos, we have just linked to them. All rights belong to the owners of the video. We make no claim to own the videos. We put the links to videos of the event in the Video URLs at the bottom. We put related video links in the text box.
Some of these videos have foul language so this app isn't for youth. Sometimes, links go bad. We'd love to have you alert us if you find bad links (and also if you have suggestions for sound bites we didn't include this go round.) We'll be updating often.
