MDDX1: Voice Editor for Yamaha reface DX by Helfried Wildenhain

MDDX1 is the complete, professional Voice Editor for the Yamaha reface DX. The reface DX, launched at Summer NAMM in 2015, is a modern, mobile version of the DX100 (one of the most underrated synths of the 1980s). The reface DX focuses on portability: 37 mini keys, a built-in speaker, optional battery power and a low price point are some of the big differences from the original.

The reface DX is a tiny device with huge sound, but the screen and the onboard controls are very limiting. With direct access to hundreds of parameters, MDDX1 lets you reach into your reface DX, get beyond the front panel controls, and tweak to your heart's content.

The layout inside MDDX1 is by MIDI Designer Pro 2 Master Layout Author Helfried Wildenhain. The Platinum layout has progressed over several versions. The layout represents hundreds of hours of work and shows an eye for detail and problem-solving that few can match. The layout that powers MDDX1 not only redefines what the reface DX can do; it also redefines what's possible with MIDI Designer. Features include:
◎ Direct access to every parameter on the reface DX in two different layouts: a 4-Page Layout (all parameters on two iPad screens) and a 2-Page Layout (all parameters on one iPad screen)
◎ Randomize Function, to smartly generate new patches and starting points
◎ A "phrase" demo for consistent patch testing
◎ A help section and a manual to orient new and existing users
◎ Use MIDI Designer patent-pending touch dials to select voices simply by sliding your finger on the iPad’s touch screen
◎ Save your most used sounds in the Global Presets for instant recall
◎ Requires iOS 9.2 or better, and an iPad 2 air or later is recommended. All graphics are optimized for all Retina screens, including the 12.9" iPad Pro

We take our hats off to the author, Helfried Wildenhain, for this extensive, bidirectional MIDI controller for the Yamaha reface DX.
