Description

Egyptoid: Escape from the Tombs is a casual brick breaker arcade game set inside the mysterious depths of a lost Egyptian tomb. It's an Arkanoid or Breakout-style game at its core, though as soon as you start sliding that paddle and smashing bricks you'll forget its inspirations and get lost in the game's satisfying visuals and challenging level designs.
Egyptoid starts with you, the unlucky protagonist, stumbling around an ancient tomb when you accidentally trigger a trap. The door snaps shut and you're pushed into a series of rooms filled with boxes. The only way out is to keep moving forward, one stubborn obstacle at a time.
As with any Arkanoid or Breakout game your main method of interaction is a single paddle sitting at the bottom of the screen. The paddle bounces a ball and the ball can crack and destroy just about anything it comes in contact with. Slide the paddle left and right to aim the ball upwards. You'll want to clear as many boxes as you can with each move. As soon as most of them are gone, the tomb door opens and you'll move on to the next room.
Breaking boxes and vases isn't just for show. Coins will tumble out of some of these objects, as will a handful of different power-ups. Maneuver the paddle to collect items before they fall off the bottom of the screen and you can put them to use. Items grant you abilities such as a longer paddle, faster ball speeds, or even rounds of crazy multi-ball destruction. There are also anti-power-ups that shrink your paddle or decrease your speed, though, so don't just blindly grab everything you see.
