Description

This Royalton Hotel Guest Tour is for the exclusive use of guests staying at the Royalton in New York City. The content is locked and can be accessed only with a Guest Access Code provided by the Royalton Hotel.

There is never a dull moment in New York City, and the Royalton, ideally located in midtown Manhattan, is at the heart of the action. The Guest Tour provides Royalton guests with a behind-the0scenes look at some of the iconic sightseeing attractions within a one-block of the property. Step back in time to Mark Twain's Gilded Age, when vast fortunes were amassed, lost and devoted to public good on an almost daily basis. Rub shoulders with industrialists, collectors, plagiarists, murderers, the hobos of the Great Depression and the nation's richest families. This is the story of America in miniature, of the institutions of a great city established initially by many, for the few, and transformed, in time, to benefit all.

The Guest Tour tells this tales from the vantage point of six places close to the Royalton. You will have a map, along with a suggested tour itinerary, but you may explore in any order you like, in a single session or one story at a time. Test your knowledge with the trivia quiz that can be skipped at any time if desired. Please note that access to the New York Public Library is free of charge, seven days a week. Check with the hotel front desk or online at nypl.org for specific opening hours and holiday closures.

Once downloaded, the tour guide requires no further internet connectivity, does not use GPS, does not track users or collect data, and contains neither advertising nor in-app purchase.

What's New in Version 3.0

As we are sure you are aware, the New York Public Library is now closed. This however should have limited impact on the experience of the Guest Tour except in so far as it makes answering the trivia questions a little more challenging. The stories told in the app are every bit as engaging whether one is wandering the library halls, catching some sun in Bryant Park or practicing social distancing in your room.
