This game is similar to TV game show GSN Lingo in the US, and many other game shows in Netherlands, Italy, etc
In the UK, Lingo is a quiz show hosted by Adil Ray where the simplest of words can win members of the public thousands of pounds.
General Rules
Each lingo starts with the first letter in place. The pair of contestants whose go it is guess the first word, and if there is a letter in the right place, the square turns green. If one of the letters is in the word, but is not in the right place, the tile will go yellow. They have 10 seconds to guess each word. Each word has to be inside the show's dictionary. The successful pair can win thousands of pounds.
First Round
There are three sets of two contestants, who start off by trying to complete four letter lingos. There is a board with five rows and four columns, so therefore they have five attempts at completing the lingo. Each lingo is worth £200 pounds. They have a chance at completing three lingos each and a bonus ten letter puzzleword, which is £300, but it decreases as more letters are revealed.
Second Round
The pair with the lowest amount of money goes first, guessing three sets of five letter lingos (with a 5x5 tile board). The same rules apply, but each lingo is worth £300 and if they run out of time or don't guess the word in five attempts, the other players can steal it. There is still a puzzleword worth £400, but this time, it has eleven letters. The team with the least amount of money is eliminated at the end of the round.
Third Round
It is much the same, but there are only two pairs of contestants. They each choose which of them is going to solve a four letter lingo and a five letter lingo. If the players solve the lingo on the first attempt, they get £500, and it decreases by £50 until £300 on the final attempt. Each contestant has the opportunity to solve two lingos. The puzzleword has twelve letters in this round and is worth up to £750. At the end of that round, the team with the least amount of money leave the game.
Final Round
The final couple have 90 seconds to solve up to three lingos; a four letter, five letter, and six letter. If they manage to complete the four letter lingo, they win half of the money that they have banked. If they complete the five second lingo as well, they win all of their money. However, if they complete all three lingos, the amount that they banked will double. If they cannot complete the lingo, they can say "pass", and a new lingo will be given to them.
