Description

Welcome to Catholic Television of San Antonio.
Catholic Television of San Antonio (CTSA) began broadcasting on November 28, 1981, as the first diocesan-sponsored Catholic Television station and continues to serve today as an evangelization tool for the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
CTSA is an electronic parish. By bringing the Word of God in Catholic and non-Catholic homes alike, it serves as a unique and effective tool for evangelization and religious instruction. We are both an extension of the local parish and a de facto parish and classroom for those who, for a variety of reasons, cannot participate in a traditional parish setting.
CTSA has a role in bringing the Word of God to those who are unable to attend Mass or missionary events as well as provide programming content that is both exemplary of Catholic life and informative of Catholic religion.
In its beginning, CTSA provided 12 hours of programming on UA-Columbia Television of Texas. At that time programming consisted of a network source from the Eternal Word Television Network, various taped programs, and few programs that were produced by the station in black and white in a conference room that served as a makeshift studio.
Today, CTSA is on-air 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
