Description

Emil Hünten, born in Paris on January 19, 1827, was an artist known for his historical and military paintings. He learned art in Paris and later studied in Antwerp and Düsseldorf. His work attracted the attention of Crown Prince Frederick William of Prussia, leading to his involvement in documenting various military campaigns, including the Franco-Prussian War.

Hünten's talent earned him medals in Berlin and Vienna, and he became a member of the Berlin Academy. He was also known for his skill in painting horses and had notable students. His work even inspired the famous writer Theodor Fontane. Emil Hünten passed away in Düsseldorf on February 1, 1902.
