Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is out on those consoles you all like to play games on. But what if you fancy some cyberpunk goodness on your mobile phone? Well don't worry, because with this handy list of pocket-sized games that are like the gritty dystopian shooter you'll soon be hacking into the matrix and riding the information super high way all the way to sci-fi glory.
Okay so the first two entries in the list are going to be cheats. Deus EX GO is the latest game in Square Enix's GO series, following on from the success of the good Hitman GO and the great Lard Croft GO.
It's got all the yellow-hued sneaky shooty action of the games that inspired it, but packaged up in a magnificent puzzle game. It's super polished, highly entertaining, and it's going to scratch that Deus Ex itch pretty damn well.
This is sort of a forgotten Deus Ex game. It's a companion piece to Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and tries its best to squish pretty much everything the series does into a palm-sized experience.
And it just about manages to pull it off. It's not without its niggles – I mean it's a first person shooter on a touchscreen device – but it is a lot of fun, good looking, and as close as we're ever going to get to a “real” Deus Ex game on mobile.
While it might sit firmly at the strategy end of the RPG spectrum, Shadowrun Returns makes it onto the list because of its brilliantly evocative setting. Cyberpunk meets fantasy in a dirty Blade Runner-style future of Orks and glowing screens.
There's a massive game to enjoy here – it doesn't have the more actiony elements you'd get in a Deus Ex game, but it captures the feel of a cyberpunk dystopia just as well as Adam Jensen's adventures.
Another RPG, but this time with a much bigger focus on action. It's the story of a girl and a sword in a neon-lit future, and it's probably one of the best looking games you're ever going to load up on your iOS device.
Everything about the game exudes cool, there's a wonderful story bubbling on under everything you do, and you're going to have a big goofy smile on your face the whole time you're playing it.
One of the most important cyberpunk games, Beneath a Steel Sky is a brilliant detective adventure that anyone who was alive in the early 90s gets all misty eyed over.
It's funny, it's tough, and while it might not have aged perfectly, it still gives you a glimpse into where the genre came from. It's also stunning, and the perfect way to connect with a kind of game that doesn't happen much nowadays.
