5 reasons we're excited for Galaxy on Fire 3 - Manticore

Galaxy on Fire 3 - Manticore is just on the horizon. It’s super close. So close we can almost taste it. Like some sort of distant dreamy sandwich we can’t wait to drive our gnashers into.

But it isn’t here yet, so I figured I’d just write a list of reasons why I’m excited about it and let that just sit here until the game actually turns up. Hard-hitting journalism, amirite?

Oh also there’s a new teaser trailer for the game. Give that a watch and then we’ll dawdle into the list.

Space

I love space. I think of all my favourite places to have a fight, space is right up there. Mainly because it’s so massive and ridiculous. Like, it just goes on forever.

So flying a spaceship around IN space, shooting things, doing missions, and generally ignoring the mundanity of my very ground-based existence is fine by me.

Lovely looker

I mean it’s no surprise that the game looks as nice as it does. There’s a lot of pedigree behind it. Like a dog food or a cheese, but not really like either of those things at all now I come to think about it.

I just really like explosions and fire effects and lasers and all of the stuff that Galaxy on Fire 3 seems to be getting right. So yeah, well done it.

Big

This sort of stems from the space thing, but in a world where Crossy Road exists, having a mobile game you can actually spend some time with sounds like a darn good thing.

Not that I’ve got anything against Crossy Road. I love Crossy Road. But I’d likely love it even more if it was massive, set in space, and had lots more explosions in it.

People

Having a couple of wingmen at your side is always a good idea in pretty much any situation. And when they’re your friends and they’re also in spaceships it’s basically the best idea.

Now your friends might not actually be controlling the ships, since they’re piloted by the AI, but you can always just pretend it’s them. And you’ll all split up the spoils of the mission as well. Because sharing is caring.

The other ones were good

Like I say, there'sd some pedigree here. And it's usually the third game in a series where things super finally properly click into place. Which makes me even more excited.

Look at Devil May Cry 3. Everyone loved that one. Or at least my friend Joe did. Anyway, excited, you might be too, game comes out pretty soon. List done.
