Facebook Messenger now has games in it. I’ve only just managed to get to grips with it having gifs. And don’t get me started on stickers. What even are stickers?

Anyway there’s quite a lot of games on there. 17 to be precise. But which are the best ones to play with your friends?

Well your time is precious, and we can’t expect you to spend any of it figuring things like that out. But our time here at AppSpy is pretty much worthless.

So here are the five Facebook Messenger games that you should start off your Facebook Messenger gaming career with. You’re welcome.

Shuffle Cats Mini

A clever little shooting gallery that sees you flicking cards at other cards. You need to hit the cards with cats on them and avoid hitting the cards that don’t have cats on them.

Unless they’ve got gems on them. Then you want to hit them. It’s quick fire, it doesn’t take any time to get going, and the potential for close high score battles is pretty high.

Galaga

There are a couple of shooters on Messenger, but this is definitely the best of them. It’s sharp, it’s energetic, and there’s a decent level of challenge.

Setting a high score on this one is going to make you feel like you’ve actually accomplished something. Not anything important, but you know what I mean.

Words With Friends Frenzy

Imagine if Scrabble was a single player game and people kept throwing tiles at you until you were literally smothered with tiles and died.

That’s pretty much what Words With Friends Frenzy is. There’s puzzling and spelling to be done, but it’s puzzling and spelling done at superfast speeds.

Zoo Keeper

A match-stuff puzzler that’s all about matching more and more things. The first round you only need to clear three of each type of animal. But that number goes up with every level.

A few rounds in you’re fighting the clock, the board, and your own useless eyes. And it makes for a jolly good time all round.

Endless Lake

I’ll be honest here, Endless Lake is just a really good game, regardless of the platform it finds itself on. It’s a sharp endless runner with a bit of a swagger to it.

It’s got some neat ideas too, and while in the end it is just an endless runner, it’s a tight and engaging one. Give it a go.

Araknoid

A polished up version of the classic arcade game. This one plays super smooth and puts the likes of Space Invaders to shame.

Plenty of action, plenty to do, and quite a bit to learn. Not bad for a game you play in a messenger app with one finger.
