Well Super Mario Run is out. Doesn't time fly when you're waiting for something to happen. No. No it does not. But that's not the point. The point is that Super Mario Run is out.

Which means you're probably wondering whether you should get it, what you have to do when you get it, and whether or not all your friends are going to get it as well. You've probably got more questions too. Well answering questions is what we do best.

So here in easily digestible list form is all the information you need to know to get Super Mario Run, and get superbly Mario running. If you've got your own hints and tips then throw them in the comments below.

Should I get it?

That's the big question. So to help you out, here's the official AppSpy verdict, in video form.

But if you don't have the time to watch a video because you're a busy important person, here's the short answer – yes. It's a brilliant auto-running platformer that does things differently.

It's bright, it's breezy, and it's an awful lot of fun. Basically everything you want from a Mario mobile game.

What happens when I get it?

Well there's some free content when you download the game. You can play through the first three sections of the game and participate in some Toad Rally as well. If you want more though, you'll have to pay.

The game has a one off IAP of £7.99, which gets you everything that it has to offer. Think that's too much? Well check out our article about why it's absolutely not by clicking this link right here.

Once you've paid you can work your way through the 24 levels the game has to offer. Now I know you're thinking that's not many, but finishing them the first time is just part of the fun.

There are special coins to collect on every level. Grab all five in one run and they'll change colour and move around, becoming more difficult to pick up in the process. Grab all of those and the coins go black, move around again, and are really super hard to nab.

Wait, what's Toad Rally?

This is the asynchronous multiplayer part of the game. Here you run against the ghosts of other players. You're collecting coins, but you're also competing to show off against Toads. The more Toads that cheer for you, the more likely you are to win.

The levels here are on a loop, and you'll need to bounce through them with speed and skill if you want to earn the most Toads and work your way up the rankings.

You can spend the Toads you collect on building up your kingdom, which unlocks different characters and levels.

There are leaderboards on all the standard levels as well. So there's plenty to do here if you really like getting stuck into the meat of a game.

Do I need a Nintendo ID to play it?

No you don't, you can sign in as a guest. But if you do have a Nintendo ID, or want to get more out of the game then it's well worth signing in properly.

You'll be able to add and challenge friends, and that adds an extra level of excitement to the Toad Rally sections. Beating strangers is one things, beating people you know is a whole other ball game.
