It's Thursday, and it's the last time that the App Store is going to get updated in 2016. So that means this is the last Thursday find of the year. We hope you've enjoyed reading them an awful lot more than we've enjoyed writing them.

We'll be back when the year rolls over with even more exciting recommendations for you, but that doesn't mean we're not finishing with a flourish. Hell, everything we do here at AppSpy we do with a flourish. And a bit of a wiggle.

If you've got your own Thursday finds to throw about then feel free to add them in the comments below. And we'll see you again in the new year for some more Thursdays and a lot more findings.

Island Delta

A twin-stick shooter that really only uses one stick. And doesn't have all that much shooting in it. I guess you could call it something like a third person action adventure instead. But with puzzles. And a gravity gun.

All I know is that it's an awful lot of fun. You're working your way through a mad scientist's base in order to free an AI helper that he's kidnapped. And you're doing it by picking things up, putting them on stuff, and throwing robots at walls.

That's because you've got a gun that lets you pick objects up. You might need to pull a battery out of one hole and put it in another, or toss an explosive crate at a door in order to get past it.

There are drones and guards and turrets you need to watch out for as well. And more often than not the game offers you an ingenious way around them.

One particular section sees you twisting a laser around, opening a door, and then laughing as the guard inside gets a face full of hot red light. It's the small things that make life worth living.

The devil's in the delta

The controls are slick and well polished, the game looks really rather nice, and the levels are snappy enough that you can a few on the bus to work. Or to wherever the bus is taking you, that's none of my business.

It drips new ideas in regularly as well. Like gates that stop your gun from working, and enemies that put up shields after you've picked them up for the first time.

It's fun, it's pretty fresh, and there's a whole chunk of stuff to do. It's Thursday, so go find this one on the App Store and have a lovely couple of days working your way through it.
