I think it’s fair to say that the App Store is having a bit of a snooze at the moment. And quite frankly I’d like to join it. But since that’s out of the question for a professional like myself, I figured I’d do a list of the best games on sale and iPad and iPhone instead.
The pickings might be a little slim, but there are three really good games here, and all of them are worth throwing some money at if you haven’t yet.
So with little or no further ado, here are them there games you should be picking up for cheap. If that’s the sort of thing you like doing, anyway.
Lifeline
Most of the Lifeline series is actually on sale at the moment, but I thought I’d highlight the original, since it was such a special game when it first came out.
Essentially the game is all about talking to someone stranded in space. You’re their literal lifeline. Things play out in real-time in the notifications on your phone.
It might sound just like a nice chat, but it’s much more than that. And if you’ve not played it yet you definitely should.

Tabletop Racing
A game that does pretty much exactly what you’d expect it to after reading its name. You’re racing. On tabletops. Pretty clever, right?
At full price this one’s worth uhming and aahing over, but for as cheap as it is right now it’s a bit of a no-brainer.
Drive around some pretty exciting racetracks in some pretty exciting cars smiling because everything is a little bit on the small side.

Badland 2
The original Badland was a nice idea, the sequel is a really, really good game that builds on that idea in multiple directions.
You’re still controlling a black blob, but this time you really feel like you’re controlling it, rather than just being dragged along for the ride.
Slick, utterly gorgeous, and regularly updated. Now’s the perfect time to pick up one of the best games of 2015.
