Injustice 2 has just been soft-launched in a few countries. So our much more effective video arm has grabbed some footage to show you what to expect from the kicky punch super hero game.
To summaries - if you’ve played the first game on mobile you’re going to know exactly what to expect. Capes, swipes, and some card collecting too. Why don’t you just watch the video below and you’ll get the idea.
But this all made me wonder - which comic publisher has the best games on the App Store? And as we all know, the only way to settle things in comic book world is with a massive scrap. So here goes, Marvel vs DC, to the death, winner gets to keep their underwear on outside their trousers.
Marvel Contest of Champions vs Injustice
Well let’s start the fight off with the fighting games. Marvel lands the first blow, and it’s a crunching one. Where Injustice feels a bit flabby and underdone, Contest of Champions is a beautifully balanced swarm of carnage and swagger. One of the best fighting games on mobile.
Winner: Marvel
The Amazing Spider-Man vs The Dark Knight Rises
Now the third person adventures step up. And once again it’s Marvel that takes the punchy biscuit. The Dark Knight Rises is clunky and gloomy. Whereas The Amazing Spider-Man is bright and a bit less clunky. Neither is great but if we have to choose we’ll go for the web-slinger over the Dark Knight.
Winner: Marvel
Lego Marvel Super Heroes vs Lego Batman: DC Super Heroes
Oooooh, a tough one. The Lego games are almost all great, and these two are no exception. Rich with humour and wonderful nods to the source material. I’m calling it, these two would just beat each other unconscious. It’d be Superman vs Doomsday, and they’d punch each other so much they’d both not die.
Winner: Draw
Marvel Future Fight vs DC Comics Legends
Another tough one. Both of them are casual RPGs featuring impressive rosters of heroes. Both of them are going to annoy a lot of people because they’re not premium. I’m going to be controversial here and call this one a draw too. Sorry, but they’re both as good as each other.
Winner: Draw
Marvel Avengers Academy vs Batman: Arkham Underworld
A couple of resource management games round off the brawl. I reckon they’d be hitting each other with sticks, because that’s the sort of thing I imagine happens in resource management games. Avengers Academy might be bright and giddy, but I’m giving this one to the bat. The grime works well here, and you’ve got a decent amount of control over what you actually do.
Winner: DC
The final results
Well, after doing some quick sums and additions and other mathematical stuff, I’ve worked out that Marvel has the best games on mobile. I’m pretty sure this counts as scientific proof too. Well done Marvel. You win at mobile games as well as films.
