Ghost Recon Wildlands is the latest addition to the Tom Clancy gaming canon. It's a massive open world shooter that takes the series back to its modern day military roots. No more robots here.
Obviously it's not going to come to the App Store though. And that's the sort of thing we care about here – AppSpy hearts mobile IDST. So what can you do if you want to shoot people in the face on your phone?
Well, you could do worse than trying out one of these little gems. We've got man shooters, tank shooters, and more multiplayer than you can shake a stick at. Click the emboldened titles of the games and you'll be swooshed off to the App Store where you can download them over your interwebs connection.
A big polished shooty bang bang game that owes more than a little to the likes of Call of Duty. There are loads of guns, loads of things to shoot, and plenty of different single and multiplayer modes to jump into.
It might not have the free space of Wildlands, but to be honest you're going to be hard pressed to find anything on mobile that does. The military fatigues and conspiracy theory storyline are all in place though.

No single player here, but lots of well-fitting combat fatigues and enormous weapons. Afterpulse is probably the slickest multiplayer shooter on the App Store, although that's not really saying all the much now I think about it.
The battles are fast, the violence is surprisingly pleasing, and there are loads of guns to buy and upgrade so you can become the best murderer that the digital world has ever cowered in fear from.

This one is, to all intents and purposes, Counter Strike in the palm of your hand. Terrorists against soldiers in frantic multiplayer battles. Run around, shoot things, get shouted at by your team mates because you're not very good.
The controls might be a bit on the sloppy side, but there's an awful lot here to like. Violent and tense in all the right ways. If you've not played it yet, then it's definitely worth checking out.
Okay, so this one's a bit of a leap, but bear with me. It's a big shooter with plenty of options and upgrades. You just happen to be playing a tank instead of a bearded war-man. And you're shooting other tanks instead of foreigners.
There's just something lovely about WoT. Rumbling around with your friends, firing off your massive shooters, and getting stuck in small thickets of trees. It's everything you could want from a tank game, and more.
