This week's Tuesday best of is a look back at the iOS career of Colin Lane. I say that like he's dead, but I'm pretty sure he's not, since the dev released the really rather wonderful Golf Zero (with Brad Erkkila) last week.
Anyway, this is a tale of some of the finest madness that the App Store plays host too. While Golf Zero might be the zenith of Lane's mobile gaming creations, it's by no-means the only thing he's made that's worth playing.
So here's a list of three other games of his you should be playing. As ever a swift click on the emboldened name of the game will allow you to download it.
Quite possibly the most perfect mobile wrestling game ever created. All you need to do is throw your opponents out of the ring. It just so happens you're using controls that might not quite be up to the task.
And that's half the fun. There are moments of true emergent nonsense here. And giant bosses. And a whole lot more. Hats! Oh lord I forgot about the hats. This is the mobile gaming version of a really big, silly smile.

In a way you could consider Battle Golf a precursor to Golf Zero. Mainly because it takes something utterly boring in the shape of golf, and tries to add something more interesting to it in the shape of battling.
It doesn't quite reach the heights of Golf Zero, but it's a beautifully maddening multiplayer experience all the same. And that's something that deserves championing nowadays.

A game about smashing balls into hoops. But done with Lane's signature style. Which is to say that it's completely ludicrous and will have you rolling around on the floor cackling like a well tickled buffoon.
Control a couple of players, throw a ball around, and try and perform the most ostentatious slam dunks possible. Quite frankly, what's not to like about that?
