There's a new Angry Birds game out. Well, it's not out OUT, but it has been soft launched in a few places. And our lovely video chap James has played it. And then made a video of himself playing it. Because that's what people use the internet for nowadays. You can watch the video below.
Anyway, I thought it'd be a good idea to round up everything we know about Angry Birds Islands in one handy to digest piece of content. In fact, this easy to digest piece of content. The one you're reading right now.
Without further ado then, here's all of the important stuff you need to know about Angry Birds: Islands. If you know some secret information that you want to share with the rest of the world, even if it isn't about the game, feel free to add it in the comments at the bottom of the article.
What is it?
It's a casual resource management, item crafting game. Think Clash of Clans, but with Birds and Pigs instead of Barbarians and all of the other things that are in Clash of Clans.
There are a bunch of islands to explore and hack to bits with your pig workforce. And you use the resources they gather to build up your town. The better the town you've got, the better you'll feel about yourself. Maybe.
What sets it apart?
Well, there's those birds and pigs. And there's more of a focus on crafting things than you might expect to find in this sort of game. Plus it's super polished, as we've come to expect from anything with the Rovio brand. Mmmmmm, pretty pigs.
You can make friends with lots of other players as well, in order to get new items that are tough to get if you play on your own.
There are also monsters in the game. These beasts will come and try and trash your houses and what not. Because that's what monsters do nowadays, apparently.
You've got a special cart that lets you go out and collect everything you're going to need. And it looks like there'll be some sort of scraps as well. Because you can't really make a game without violence in it or the kids will think it's whack. Ahem.
When's it out?
No idea. It's soft-launched right now in the Philippines and Japan, and it has been for a few weeks. And it's not just on the App Store either, there's a soft launch version on the Google Play Store too. That makes me think it's going to be launched on both platforms at the same time.
We'll let you know when we've heard more about the game. But in the meantime enjoy James's dulcet tones safe in the knowledge that if you don't want to play a new Angry Birds game, no one is going to make you.
