Well, it's Wednesday, it's tipping it down, and the temperature has dipped down to Autumnal levels. To say I'm happy would be an understatement. You can take your sun and throw it into the far depths of space where it will never bother me again.

Anyway, on Wednesday here at AppSpy we like to round up the best games that are currently on sale on the App Store. And me oh my, there are a lot of them this week. Whittling them down was pretty tough.

But here are the five I've gone for. As ever you can click on the emboldened names of the games below to grab them from the App Store. And if you've spotted something ace and cheap that I haven't, feel free to let us know in the comments below. Peace out.

Door Kickers - 99p / 99c

A game that features more than its fair share of door kicking. You're controlling a SWAT team on a series of missions, drawing paths for them to follow. It's smart, it's pretty darn deep, and for less than a quid you really should be picking it up right now.

FTL: Faster Than Light - £2.99 / $2.99

Probably the best deep-space exploration roguelike available on the App Store. Fantastically well put together, chock full of amazing content, and just really, really good. You'll die, a lot. And then you'll hop back into space, because space is ace.

A wonderful detective game full of suspense and mystery. It's unlike anything you've ever played before, and when I say that I actually mean it. Tense and remarkable, it's a game that will have you enthralled all the way through.

A sombre game about the ravages of war seen through the eyes of people who are just trying to survive. It's taught and frightening, and there are moments in it where your heart will be in your mouth. A hugely important piece of digital entertainment.

The Warlock of Firetop Mountain - £2.99 / $2.99

A departure from Tin Man's usual gamebook style. This one's more like a board game, with miniatures, choices to make, and more tactical scraps. It's fun, it's dripping with nostalgia, and if you fancy a fantastic fantasy game you should give it a go.
