Hi there, and welcome to another edition of Harry starts the first paragraph of a feature with something weird about the day. It's Thursday today, and I think we can all agree that that is a fact, and just move on with our lives without putting any more consideration into it.
And since it's Thursday, it's time for my favourite AppSpy feature, the Thursday Find. Today we're going to be looking at a game that mixes puzzling and arcade action into a frantic, heady, and often down right enraging mix.
As usual you can click on the emboldened name of the game below to swoop over to the App Store and download it right this second. And feel free to share your ideas in the comments below, if that's the sort of thing that you're into.
Brainful is the sort of game that's going to have you pulling your hair out. But pulling your hair out in a good way. It's a super slick mix of a puzzler and an arcade game that involves logic, and an awful lot of remembering.
The game takes place on a string of coloured lines. You need to tap symbols that appear on these lines. The symbol you tap will tell you what symbol you need to tap next. That's where the remembering kicks in.
Because there are a stream of different symbols that represent the three different lines. Sometimes it's a colour, sometimes it's a number, sometimes it's a cross that tells you which of the lanes you can't tap on.
If it sounds confusing, well it sort of it. That's the point. You need to work your way through the tutorials, learning what each of the symbols means until you're confident enough to take on the endless mode where the meat of the game is.
While it brings in ideas from other games, Brainful mashes them together into a super brilliant mangle of ideas that are going to make you smash your phone into tiny pieces and then screaming at the pieces.
It all bonds together to make one of the most interesting new games we've seen on the App Store in the last few months. So yeah, pick it up, give it a go, don't blame me if you break all of your stuff in the process.
