Well then, another Harry Potter game has been announced for mobile. It's called Harry Potter: A Hogwart's Mystery, and it's set to land on iOS and Android next year some time. The game's an RPG, and it sees you spending 7 years in the iconic castle.
Alongside Harry Potter: Wizard's Unite, that means we're probably going to see at least two HP-themed games landing on the App Store next year. Obviously that got my brain cogs whirring - what else in the wizarding world could be turned into a mobile game?
And you know what my brain cogs are like - once they're in gear there's nothing that can stop them except the creation of excellent content. So that's what you're going to get here. A list of other Harry Potter games we'd like to see coming to mobile. And the developers who should make them.
Quidditch
Everyone loves sports games, and everyone loves wizards, so why not combine the two and release a quidditch game for mobile. It'd basically be like FIFA, except above the ground and with far more convoluted rules.
I for one would like to see Colin Lane making this one. Not only would that make it laugh out loud fun, it'd also mean I wouldn't have to worry about learning any confusing control schemes. You'd basically just hit the screen. Plus Colin Lane is a pretty wizarding name.
Papers, Please: Ministry of Magic Edition
You know when Voldemort comes back and takes over the Ministry of Magic and everyone has to prove that they're pure blood? Well, this game would capture that. You'd be an overworked ministry official trying to decide who gets to stay in the wizarding world and who gets sent to Azkaban.
Obviously this one would have to be developed by Lucas Pope. And again, Lucas Pope sounds like a wizarding name. I'm seeing a pattern here. Or maybe I'm just looking too deeply into things? That doesn't sound like me though.
The Forbidden Forest
Here you'd be wandering through the Forbidden Forest on the edge of the grounds of Hogwarts. You'd come across all sorts of weird creatures. Some of them would be friendly, some of them would be jerks, and some of them would try and eat you.
I'm thinking Simogo for this one. It'd sort of be like Year Walk, but with Harry Potter stuff rather than weird Swedish stuff. Simogo sounds a bit like a spell you might shout while wiggling your wand about as well. Coincidence?
