The MOBA genre is one of the more modern entrants into the videogame pantheon. Alongside battle royale games, the last few years have really belonged to the MOBA. So it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to you that there's plenty of them to choose from on the App Store.

Obviously, if you've got your own suggestions then feel free to chuck them in the comments at the bottom of the article. Click the download links and you'll be able to grab the games from the App Store super quick too.

One of the best looking, and best playing, MOBAs out there. Vainglory has clearly had a lot of money thrown at it, and while it might have been out for a few years, that time has seen the game receive loads of updates. Really, there's no better time than now to pick it up and start playing.

Arena of Valor - download for iOS

If you ask a mobile MOBA fan what they're favourite game is, then it's likely they're either going to go for Arena of Valor or Vainglory. And rightly so. When it comes to fully featured pocket-sized battle arenas, these two are hard to beat. Anyone who's played a MOBA before is going to feel at home here, but there's some interesting twists thrown in for good measure as well.

Gameloft's attempt at a MOBA is actually really good. Set in the same universe as the dev's WoW clone, this one feels much more like a game in its own right. It's tight, it's taut, and it's clearly been developed by people who have a good strong grasp on what makes mobile gaming tick.

If you're looking for a MOBA with some familiar faces in it, then this is the best place to start. It's packed full of Star Wars heroes and villains, and it's a little more midcore than the other games on the list. You're still getting the complete MOBA experience, it's just it's in a package that's a bit easier to swallow.

Clash Royale - download for iOS

It'd be wrong to write a list like this without including Clash Royale. It's one of the mosty succesful games on the App Store, and there's a damn good reason for that. It takes the MOBA, throws in some card-collecting ideas, and chucks the whole thing at you in rapid three minute bursts. Be warned, though, you're probably going to get addicted to this one.
