One good thing about Apple starting to take gaming seriously is that we've now got a better idea of when the games we're most excited about are going to land. Ish. So we thought that might be the sort of thing you're interested in as well.

With that in mind we've written up this list of the five games currently up for pre-order that you should be getting the most psyched about. We've even including links so you can get your pre-order in within seconds, which is pretty darn nice we think you'll agree.

Got your own suggestions that people should be boarding the hype train for? Well make sure you let us know in the comments at the bottom of the article. Until then, on with the list.

A Reigns game set in the universe of the super popular HBO show? I mean, come on, what's not to like about that. Sometimes when things like this happen, you're left wondering who thought squishing a TV show into a particular genre was a good idea. This time round though, you're left wondering why no one thought to do it before. It's a match made in the seven heavens.

This one's a classic of the MMO genre, and while it's not as shiny as the upcoming Runescape Mobile, if you're looking for a massively multiplayer game, this is a great place to start. It's massive, it's brilliantly put together, and the underlying architecture of the game means it's perfect for mobile.

Remember when we all thought this was coming out a few weeks ago? Bethesda has moved its huge action RPG to a December 1st release slot instead. But it's still the one game we're the most excited about. If this works well, then look to other studios to start making mobile-specific versions of their biggest IPs.

Shump - pre-order for iOS

A super interesting hybrid of a platformer and a shooter, Shump has its roots firmly in both the arcade and the indie camps. It's the sort of thing you can play for a few minutes or, if you're so inclined, get stuck into for hours on end. It's tough, it's funny, and when you beat your high score you can't help but grin.

Trigger Heroes - pre-order for iOS

A premium, top-down roguelike shooter with cartoon animals from the dev behind Beat Street? You can sign us up right this second thank you very much. This one features clever one-touch controls, a whole bunch of levels and bosses to take down, and a brilliant soundtrack. Honestly we'd like to stop typing and go and play it now please.
