We took a long hard look at the SRPG's first steps into the mobile world. It's a classic series, and there are no doubt fans out there who are wondering whether this free to play version of their favourite game is going to be any cop. Well, we can assuage some of those fears right now - Langrisser Mobile is one of the best strategy games we've played on our phones for a good long while.

A game that takes the shooter genre by the scruff of its neck, shakes it about like a lion disciplining an unruly cub, and then tries to murder you. It might take a little while to get going, but if this backwards blaster manages to get under your skin, you're going to spend an awful lot of time trying to make it through its waves of evil demons.

Tacticoool review

We really, really like Tacticool in these parts. There's just something about how the game parcels up its little slices of action that makes it feel pretty special. It's got some great ideas, and almost every round of the top-down, team-based shooter that you play, it's almost guaranteed that something ridiculous is going to happen. In one game we got killed by a flying door, for example.
