It's been announced that Peter Molyneux is working on his next game. It's called Legacy, it's being built by the team at 22Cans (yup, the same developers behind Curiosity and Godus), and while we don't know much about it right now, we thought it was important to let you know as much as we could.
After all, Peter Molyneux is one of the biggest names in game development, so anything that he touches is well worth talking about. Also, Legacy looks like it might actually be awesome - a return to the games that made Molyneux such a famous name and face in the first place.
What is Legacy?
The game is a city builder, which is based on the first game that Molyneux ever made, all the way back in 1984, Entrepreneur. Obviously though, it's had some modern bells and whistles layered over the top, and those bells and whistles are already looking like they might be a whole lot of fun.
For one thing the game looks amazing, all chunky buildings and charming lighting. This isn't a game that's following the current trend of gloom and grit that seems to be ruining gaming. Plus it's going to let player-made content come to the fore, which is something we're always behind here at AppSpy.
The game doesn't have a set release date as of yet, and there's been no solid confirmation as to what platforms it's going to come out on. Although Nintendo Life suggests it'll be PC and mobile first, with a possible Switch port coming out later.
Obviously we'll do our best to keep you updated with more about the game as we hear it. For now though, you can check out the video above from Red Bull Gaming to get a better grasp of what Legacy is going to be about, and why you should be excited about it.
