It's fair to say that The Elder Scrolls: Blades is one of, if not the most anticipated upcoming mobile game. It's based on a massive IP, from what little we've seen it looks amazing, and it's clearly been given plenty of time to become the best game it can. Which is why we're writing this piece about its release date with some trepidation.
When the game was first announced, pre-orders went live on the App Store. But the release date of the game has changed multiple times since last year. We thought we'd see it in November, we thought we might see it in December, but now we're into the third month of the new year and there's still no sign of the game.
Well, that's not exactly true. The iOS pre-order page is still live, and now it lists March 31st as the date everyone is going to be able to get their hands on The Elder Scrolls: Blades. And there are some things that point to that actually being the case this time round.
For one thing the game has been in closed beta for a while, with an eye on moving into early access in the Spring. Correct us if we're wrong, but that sounds a lot like the end of March. So The Elder Scrolls: Blades might not come out all around the world at the end of the month, but we wouldn't be surprised to see it coming out in a bunch of countries before April.
What is The Elder Scrolls: Blades? Well, it's a game set in the same world as the likes of Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind. You play as one of the Blades, an elite set of warriors, who has to right some wrongs, rebuild their home town, and hack and slash everything that moves. That might be AI-controlled monsters, or it might be player-controlled humans, depending on the mode you pick.
