New mutants, jobs, and building in Pixel People update

Freemium world-builder Pixel People has been updated yet again. Having cultivated your own blocky Utopia, the new update lets you take a day trip to visit and explore your friends' cities. There's a laundry list of content additions, too, including 12 new buildings, 20 new mutants, and 30 new job types. It's free to download right now.

The Room: Epilogue to debut on August 29th

Creepy box-puzzler The Room scooped numerous awards when it arrived on iOS last year. Though developer Fireproof has already confirmed the sequel, which will appear later this year, fans of first game will be able to explore The Room further on August 29th via a downloadable Epilogue chapter.

This bonus episode will contain a new level, and a fresh batch of mysterious mechanisms to prise open. It also promises to answer some lingering questions raised by the game's somewhat abrupt ending, and setup the sequel. There's no reason it shouldn't be great, so mark that date on your calander.

First trailer for Flashout 2 revealed

With the WipEout franchise giving the App Store a wide berth, numerous anti-gravity racers have sprung up in its absence. One alternative for futuristic racing fans was last year's Flashout 3D. Now, in an explosion dubstep, Jujubee Studios has revealed the first footage of the sequel. As you'd expect, it look like more of the same, only a bit louder, brighter, and shinier. Expect it to whoosh onto the App Store later this year.

Death Road to Canada wandering onto the App Store later this year

Though there's no shortage of apocalyptic zombie-themed games at the moment, Death Road to Canada seems to be approaching the end of the world in a fairly novel way.

Combining elements from brawlers, rougelikes, and choose you own adventure games, developer RocketCat Games's pixel-art offering handles the extinction of the human race with composure. If shooting everything with a shotgun and telling everyone to "cool it" counts as composed, that is. Levels are randomised, multiplayer is available, and it'll be on the App Store this autumn.
