Well it's Friday, and that means two things. First I'm back at home after a trip to Gamescom, and second it's time to round up the very best games that came out on the App Store this week. After all, that's what we do every Friday.

There have been some pretty big releases this week too, so this is a list that's chock full of some really rather excellent options. It's going to be a tough week for people who only ever buy one game at a time. Although I honestly don't know if any of those people exist.

As usual you can click on the emboldened names of the games below to grab them from the App Store. And if you think anything is missing from the list, feel free to chuck your own suggestions in the comments at the bottom of this hash tag content.

Cat Bird!

Is it a bird? Is it a cat? Well judging by the title of this one, it's both. This is a pixelated platformer with some sharp edges and a super cute art style. Bounce around the levels, fight some bosses, and generally have a lovely old time.

Darkest Dungeon: Tablet Edition

It won loads of awards when it came out on PC, and now this RPG has finally made its way to mobile. Turn based battles, character permadeath, and plenty of other hardcore features make this one for the purist. And there's a chance that your characters will go mad. So that's pretty cool too.

Karma. Incarnation 1

That's a weird name. And the game that it belongs to is, quite frankly, even weirder. This one's a point and click adventure, but it oozes psychedelia from all of its many pores. You can choose between good and evil, but the choices you make will change how different characters react to you, and open up new storylines.

Bertram Fiddle: Episode 2: A Bleaker Predicklement

I mean, just look at that title. That's the sort of title that should fill you with hope and whimsy and joy. It's another adventure game, featuring bumbling Victorian detective Fiddle. Track down Geoff the Murderer, cackle at a whole host of puns, and generally enjoy the second chapter of one of the best point and click series on the App Store.

Radiation City

Zombies, wastelands, and survival are the order of the day here. You're not just battling against mutants though, you need to protect yourself from the elements, find the supplies you need to survive, and try your best to make it through this living nightmare. It looks slick, it sounds hard, and you should probably give it a go.
