Hi there, and welcome to another edition of it's Wednesday. I'm going to be your host today, Harry, and I'm going to walk you through everything you need to know about this most auspicious of days. You lucky so-and-so's.
Wednesday at AppSpy is where we round up the best games that are currently on sale on the App Store. It's not a vintage week, all told, but there are some gems here that should tide you over if your budget is looking a little bit thin.
Clicking on the emboldened names of the games below will take you to the App Store where you can grab them. And if you've spotted any sales you think we should have included, feel free to stick them in the comments at the bottom of the article.
Fighting Fantasy Legends - £1.99 / $1.99
A slick reimagining of the famous game books. This one plays more like a board game, with pieces and dice rolls. There are still choices to be made, and plenty of text to read, but if you're the sort who likes their adventures to have a bit more action and a bit less imagination, then this is going to be right up your street.

Demon's Rise 2: Lords of Chaos - £1.99 / $1.99
A deep and heavy dungeon crawler that's dripping with tactical nous. You need to make sure your forces are in the right positions, and also ensure that their morale doesn't drop too low. This is a big ol' chunk of game in all the right ways, and those hankering for some intricate and interesting strategy are going to feel right at home.
Mikey Shorts - 99p / 99c
One of the genuine classics of the early App Store. This is a slick platformer that's all about speed. The levels might be reasonably easy to finish, but heading back and trying to get the best times is a fiendish and super entertaining experience. The other games in the series are also on sale for the same price, so do yourself a favour and get them all.

Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee - 99p / 99c
If you've never played any of the Oddworld games, then now's the perfect time to start. This is a puzzling platformer that oozes charm from almost all of its orifices. There's a great story, a decent level of challenge, and some characters that you're going to be hard pressed not to fall in love with. And all for less than the price of a mid-range pack of biscuits.
Tiny Defence 2 - 99p / 99c
A side-scrolling tower defence game with a few twists up its metallic sleeves. It's all about building towers in the right place to stop waves of giant robots from destroying your city. It's not the greatest game in the world, but there's enough going on here that it's definitely worth a look.
