West of Loathing is one of maybe 5 games that I can say is consistently funny throughout the entirety of its runtime. Its writing is warm, light-hearted, and regularly chuckle-worthy. Memorable visual gags also abound in Asymmetric’s western-themed RPG epic, and its cast of goofball characters and silly locales make repeat plays impossibly inviting.
All that being said, West of Loathing is currently only available on PC and Switch. An iPad version has been in the works for some time, as has an iPhone port, but news surrounding its release has long since dried up.
From the very extensive amount of internet detective work I put into this, I gather that the iPad version has been ready to go for a while, though the status of the iPhone port remains decidedly unclear.
Perhaps it was put on the back burner when the team at Asymmetric shifted focus to the 2018 Switch port. Then after that was done, priorities shifted again to the excellent Reckonin’ at Gun Manor DLC.
Well isn’t THIS interesting... A black and white display, you say? https://t.co/3u24iInY5W

A recent tease from Asymmetric’s official Twitter account might suggest that their next project is a title for Panic’s pint-sized Playdate handheld. While this, if true, would be extremely welcome news, I’d be upset to once again see the mobile port’s release grow further and further away.
For now, we’ll have to make do with the wonderful Switch port, which, if you haven’t already given it a go, is absolutely 100% worth your time.
