Gem Mobile's Overdrive II is a fast-paced, futuristic hack 'n' slash set 100 years after the apocalypse. With its neat sci-fi aesthetic and blistering action, it found plenty of fans when it first launched for Android. Earlier this week, the game finally made its way over to the App Store, allowing iOS players to get involved.

While Overdrive II's world might be a post-apocalyptic, its inhabitants are feeling better and stronger than ever. That said, following a rogue AI taking charge of all robots and cyborgs, humans have had quite the struggle on their hands. Thankfully, a legion of ninja warriors has risen to the challenge, pushing back against the robot menace with their incredible combat skills.

These abilities are all upgradeable, and they allow you to pull off some neat tricks in the heat of battle. While its combat is the core of the experience, there are some light RPG elements thrown in for good measure.

You can customise your character's look to make them unique to you, and there are plenty of different weapon types to master as you progress. It also sounds like the faction you choose will have some impact on the way the storyline plays out.

Visually, it's pretty good, boasting slick animations and impressive environments. It's also playable entirely offline, which is always handy.

If you're a fan of the original game, or even if you just like the look of this one, you'll find Overdrive II available for download now from both the App Store and Google Play.
