Over the weekend, our sister site Pocket Gamer announced the worldwide release date of much-hyped MMORPG EVE Echoes. Yes, it's finally coming to iOS and Android on August 13th.

CCP and NetEase's spinoff to the former's legendary EVE Online has been a long time coming, though with its own unique storyline and tons of mobile-friendly features, it sounds like the game will be worth the wait.

I had the chance to try it out at EVE Vegas late last year and came away impressed by its presentation and how the team had adapted such a complex experience for on-the-go play. Most of the best things about EVE Online – the level of choice on offer, complexities of its systems, and giant sandbox setting – remain very much intact.

Sure, it's not quite as massive in scope as its big brother, but there's still surely enough content here to keep you busy for months and years to come.

If you've been looking forward to this one for some time, you can pre-register your interest now over on the App Store and Google Play. And, as I say, it'll launch globally on August 13th as a free-to-play game.
