You can now pre-order The Longest Drift on iPhone and iPad, which is due for release on 26th October.
It’s described by the developer, Tepes Ovidiu, as “a one-of-a-kind, indie racing-puzzle-adventure game about solving the mystery of the disappearance of two family members.”
You play as a woman in a faraway remote countryside village, who embarks on a journey to find her lost husband and son. At the same time, the mystery deepens as you investigate these mysterious events and solve puzzles using your great driving skills.
The Longest Drift has you driving on a variety of different terrain, including dirt roads, snowy hills and dusty lanes. As you explore, you investigate new areas that feature hidden objects or clues, which reward hints and puzzle pieces that help you later down the line. There’s even a radio feature where you can tune in to a variety of different channels.
In addition to the beautiful, vibrant art style and relaxing soundtrack, there’s also two endless modes; a regular one in which you can challenge and compete with your friends for top scores, and a ‘zen’ mode where the focus is taken away from the story and puzzles, and instead on enjoying the relaxing drive around The Longest Drift’s picturesque scenery.
The game is created by Tepes Ovidiu, whose previous work includes Vestigium (Game of the Day on the App Store), My Winter Album (Buildbox Game Jam Winner), and Cessabit (finalist of the Google Play Indie Game Festival). Ovidiu creates their games on Buildbox, a mobile games engine designed for games creation without any code or programming.
Featuring no adverts, no in-app purchases and no required internet connection, The Longest Drift is available for pre-order for £1.99 and will be releasing on iPhone and iPad on 26th October. You can grab it from the iOS App Store here.
