Kabam, the developers of the popular award-winning mobile fighting game Marvel Contest of Champions, is now releasing a MOBA spin-off based on the Marvel Comics intellectual property, and you can now pre-register for iOS and Google Play.
It takes place on a forbidden planet called Battleworld, created by a mixture of realities where heroes and villains battle it out for total domination. Following the death of the God King Maestro, the unkempt peace that Battleworld knew has been upturned and now many of these fights are breaking out yet again.
In Marvel Realm of Champions, you form a team of three to take on another team in small arena-based fights. You can select and customise a character, choosing gear that is best suited to counter the opponents you’re up against in these arenas based on popular Marvel Comics locations.
There are six playable champions to choose from at launch, including the likes of Black Panther, Hulk, Storm and Sorcerer Supreme, with each one bringing unique skills to the battlefield. For example, Hulk acts like a tank that smashes everything in his path, while Black Panther excels when he gets up close and personal against other heroes.
Pre-registering for Marvel Realm of Champions will reward you with a few bonuses once the game launches. Some of these include special gear for Iron Legionnaire and Hulk, as well as 100 units and 300 gold to use in-game. There’s a cinematic trailer above if you’re interested in learning more about the story of Realm of Champions, but if you’re familiar with the lore of Marvel Comics, its associated characters and some of the settings, then you’ll know what to expect.
Marvel Realm of Champions is headed for the iOS App Store and Google Play for Android when it eventually launches, but a release date is still unconfirmed as of now. It will be free to play and feature in-app purchases.
