Giant Squid’s The Pathless is now available for Apple Arcade alongside its PC and consoles release.

It’s a mythical adventure game where you play as a hunter who’s travelling to a mystical island to rid the world of a curse that threatens everyone. Along the way you’ll forge a connection with an eagle who assists you in hunting corrupt spirits. Your journey will take you through misty forests and ancient ruins as you solve puzzles, hunt for secrets and take part in battles. Here’s a trailer so you can see more about what the game entails.

In discussing The Pathless, creative director Matt Nava said: “The Pathless is an open-world game that features unique archery and traversal mechanics. The Hunter and Eagle's swift, fluid movements carry them seamlessly through the vast, forested landscape as players set out to banish an ancient curse of darkness. We can't wait for players to immerse themselves in the mythology of this mysterious world we have made and unravel its secrets.”

You may be familiar with Giant Squid if you’d played their previous game, Abzû. The Pathless is title almost synonymous with Apple Arcade at this point, as the two were both featured heavily together in the advertising prior to the service’s launch. It’s published by Annapurna Interactive, a games company that previously published titles like The Artful Escape, Telling Lies, and Gone Home. The Pathless will also release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and PC via the Epic Games Store. It's not known yet whether the game will reach Android devices, but we'll keep you informed if it does.
