Badlanders from NetEase Games has a had a new update to bring in the Christmas season, adding a new map, a new first-person mode, and some time-limited Christmas events and rewards.

The new map is set indoors, offering a fresh and exciting new experience which forces you to change your usual tactics. Now you’re gonna have to prepare for ambushes which may occur around every corner, and hopefully utilise the extra cover to help counter your enemies’ attacks. This one certainly does change it up a lot.

Meanwhile, a new FPP (first person perspective) mode puts you into the view of the soldier you’re playing as, thereby enhancing the immersion as you begin to see the world as they do. It’ll be much easier to sneak up on enemies now as they can’t see in a wider cone of vision around them like they can in third person, but this also means you’ll have to watch out yourself for anyone hoping to come and ambush you unaware. This mode is promised by NetEase to be an enhanced shooting experience for all Badlanders players.

You can now also dress to impress on the battlefield, as the new update adds ten new custom weapon skin themes to the game, with possible themes including jungle, desert and digital. There are opportunities to grow this even further too, with the game’s Christmas events yielding new rewards in the form of holiday appearances, weapon skins, titles, and avatars. The Top Agent Challenge has you attempting to reach the highest value of loot on the battlefield, resulting in a top leaderboard spot and exclusive titles, medals and customisation options as rewards.

If that sounds like your cup of tea, you can now grab Badlanders from the iOS App Store and Google Play for Android. It’s a free to play title with in-app purchases.
