Plug In Digital and indie developer Damien Mayance has released Flipon, a block-busting puzzler on iOS and Android devices after its earlier release on PC and Nintendo Switch last year.

It’s a puzzle game which combines the mechanics of match-3 games with a working gravity system where you need to clear a board of blocks which constantly fall from the top. Using special powers, you can clear the board and complete the levels in quick succession, but be warned that devious obstacles and other complications also gradually get added into the mix which shakes things up dramatically to make the fast-paced gameplay even more chaotic.

In Flipon, you play as Kat and her crew of space miners who are in a hostile part of the galaxy full of shiny Flipoblocks and dangerous baddies. In order to create a safe escape route, Kat and her crew need to clear the blocks and fight back against them in order to find shelter. Watch the trailer below to see how the game plays in motion.

“With Flipon, I really wanted to make a game that my whole family could enjoy, and still offer a good challenge to regular Panel de Pon/Puzzle League/Tetris Attack players,” says developer Damien Mayance. “I've worked on Steredenn: Binary Stars, Night Call or Lethis: Daring Discoverers, and I do my best to offer a polished and fun experience to players.”

The story features over 75 levels, mixing a variety of game modes such as objective, survival, boss fights and puzzles. Challenge mode, on the other hand, uses procedural generation to create randomised levels for endless fun, while the score attack mode offers infinite scoring so you can try and put your skills to the test and get on the online leaderboards.

You can download Flipon now from the iOS App Store or Google Play for Android. It’s a premium game which costs £2.99, and is also available to play on Steam and Nintendo Switch.
