Cat Colony Crisis from Devil’s Cider Games is coming to iOS and Android next month, and it looks to be the game of your dreams if you’re a cat lover.

The game places you in control of a large space shuttle populated by cats who begin showing signs of a strange illness spreading throughout the vessel. It’s up to you to enact the right measures to prevent the entire colony from being infected. You must keep an eye on the cats, and correctly control the spread by quarantining those who show symptoms of the disease.

The game was created for a game jam run by IndieCade, Seattle Indies and LabX as a collaborative event called Jamming the Curve, which intended to inspire people to combat the spread of COVID-19 by promoting “prosocial pandemic behaviour” using the interactive format of video games.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled with the success of Cat Colony Crisis during the Jamming the Curve Event,” said Paul Boyko from Devil’s Cider Games. “The development grant is a huge boon for an Indie developer and we’re excited to get our game into the hands of players and provide something cute, fun, but appropriate for these times of crisis.”

“The release of Cat Colony Crisis is thrilling for all of us,” said Stephanie Barish, the CEO and founder of IndieCade. “Cat Colony Crisis feels like the perfect culmination of nine months of planning Jamming the Curve — all our collaboration with experts, mentors, game designers, scientists, health specialists, and educators from across the nation. Our dream was that the game jam would make a real impact during this global pandemic, and the Devil’s Cider Games team seems en-route to realizing this dream.”

You won’t have to wait long, as Cat Colony Crisis will be releasing on iOS and Android on 9th February. It’ll also release then on PC and Mac.
