Studio [notes.] has launched a Kickstarter campaign for Kowloon Curse, the developer’s first game which is a mix of classic horror and turn-based RPG. It’s coming to mobile platforms in addition to the PC version.

In Kowloon’s Curse, you journey through a hellish version of Kowloon Walled City, a once densely populated enclave located in Hong Kong. You are summoned there by a mysterious figure known only as Mr. Kowloon, and you must find a way out before the city’s dark nature overcomes you.

The horror themes of Kowloon’s Curse are inspired by old Japanese adventure games, with its battle system being largely inspired by the Megami Tensei games. You will befriend many characters over the course of the story who will be able to help you in later battles.

Studio [notes.] has gone with Kickstarter to fund the remainder of its development in order to see a May 2022 release. The campaign needs to raise €6,500 for this, and there’s a stretch goal too which includes more character graphics created by Yoshitoshi Abe if the project reaches €10,000.
