Last year it was announced that Playdigious would bring the popular Viking strategy game Northgard to iOS and Android platforms sometime in 2021, with the game now launching on the former and the latter arriving later this year.
Northgard is a strategy game where you command a Viking clan as you conquer a newly discovered region. This land is full of dangers and hazards, including dire wolves and undead warriors that seek to kill you.
As such, you’ll need to deal with every aspect of moving into this dangerous new territory, including braving the harsh climate and surviving against natural hazards. This means building settlements for your clan to live in, and assigning your villagers with different tasks such as farming or training.

Resource management is a massive aspect of Northgard’s gameplay too, where you must brave the tough winters by ensuring you have enough supplies to last through this difficult period, as well as the rest of the year.
In addition to that, Playdigious has detailed several pieces of downloadable content that will be launching for Northgard. The Snake, Kraken and Dragon DLCs are available now for $2.99 each, or you can buy them as a bundle for $6.99. To celebrate the game’s launch, The Snake DLC is currently free.
More DLC is coming in the future, with the Horse, Ox and Lynx content packs arriving in Q3 of this year. These will also cost $2.99 or be a part of the Fur Bundle for $6.99.
You can download Northgard now from the iOS App Store, where it is a paid title costing $8.99, but is currently having a launch sale for $7.99. It will arrive later this year on Google Play for Android, but we don’t yet know of a release date.
