Silver Lining Studio, the dev team behind the upcoming interactive story Behind The Frame, has announced it will be releasing the game on iOS and Android devices later this year.

The full title of the game is Behind The Frame: The Finest Scenery, and it combines escape room gameplay with narrative storytelling, whereby it tells a story exploring character emotions and plot development. It uses a 360° panoramic technique to let you explore the world and immerse yourself within it. Meanwhile, the game also features a bunch of drawings and paintings you have to complete which utilise a point-and-click (or point-and-touch) control scheme.

It was recently featured during E3 2021 on the Day of the Devs showcase where it received a lot of attention for its hand-crafted art style reminiscent of anime films such as the works of Studio Ghibli. You can also check out Sophia Drake’s impressions on our sister site, Pocket Gamer, where the game was featured in the Big Indie Pitch coming in at first place. Sophia called it “in many ways like an animated film come to life”.
