NetEase Games and ACE studios have announced that their new open-survival game Fading City has been released in early access for Android as a closed beta gets underway. The game takes place in the Weidu City, now a wasteland that's become overrun with zombies hordes that is more than happy to munch on your flesh.

As a survival game, it will be important to manage your resources carefully to avoid becoming one of the undead. That means monitoring both your energy and materials to ensure you're always ready for a tussle with the zombies. You and your team will battle multiple of them at once or face off against a powerful high-risk variant that stands almost as tall as some buildings. To prepare for the fight, there are numerous dungeons to plunder with numerous challenges contained within.

Fading City will cater for various playstyles with an array of guns and other weapons to choose from, each of which can be customised to suit your needs. If going loud isn't your preference, there are other ways to approach combat, such as using stealth, constructing traps and teaming up with other players to do all of the above.

You can join forces with between one and three other players as you explore the ruins of the city. Hidden among the rubble are various puzzles to complete and treasures to find. It will be vital to your survival to scour the streets in search of equipment to bolster your arsenal and find the materials required to build a safe shelter to re-cooperate in after fending off the zombie hordes.

Fading City is available now over on Google Play in early access. It is a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
