The long wait for Warframe's next huge update, 1999, is kicking off later this month with the release of The Lotus Eaters on August 21st. This update will act as a warm-up to the big event and will also bring the next Prime, as Sevagoth rises from the briny deep in an enhanced form.
Following on from Whispers in the Walls, the Man in the Wall is not sitting by twiddling his thumbs. You will receive an SOS from The Lotus asking you to investigate an odd sound originating from Deimos in Sanctun Anatomica, but when you arrive you will be greeted with a sense of deja vu. The enigmatic Albrecht Entrari awaits at the end of this thread, but how is he connected?
To help get to the bottom of this mystery we very obviously need one specific type of character; an old ship captain, of course. Sevagoth Prime will be making its debut, complete with increased energy, shield and armour slots, along with another Naramon Polarity mod slot, everything you expect from a Prime.
Sevagoth broke out of his banishment from the Void to reclaim his ship and pride. His special effect is the use of his shadow, which can be used to save yourself from death. When drained of life, he will become a tombstone and give you control of his shadow, which you can use to Consume five enemies for a full revive - a very powerful skill to have.
This update will also bring with it the wrist-mounted Epitaph Prime and the Nautilus Prime Sentinel with the cold-damaging Verglad Prime weapon. You can craft the Waframe and weapons for free by obtaining their Blueprints and components from Void Relics. You can also pick up the Maginav Signa headpiece cosmetic, a new glyph, and the Navic mask, wings, and tail to glow up your Sentinel.
Warframe is available to download from the App Store now, with 1999 coming winter 2024, completely free.
