What's going on 'ere then?!
Just days after Warner Bros's DS sleeper hit Scribblenauts transferred over to iPhone, a port of another famous Nintendo DS property is announced for Apple's mobile platform.
According to TechCrunch, Nintendo's exclusivity agreement for Level-5's Professor Layton franchise has expired, meaning the latter are free to produce an iPhone version of their acclaimed puzzle-adventure series.
Level-5 themselves revealed plans for the upcoming iPhone title Layton Brothers: Mystery Room in a press release on 15th October:
...this title will put a new spin on the Professor Layton universe with crime-scene mystery style gameplay starring the intuitive son of Hershel Layton. The title is scheduled to be released on the iOS platform.
And while the launch date and price for Layton Brothers: Mystery Room remain up in the air, we do know that Hershel Layton's offspring won't be examining case files, forming theories, and solving puzzles on his own.
Yes, he has an agency partner. Which I, for one, am glad to hear.
Here's the first trailer for Layton Brothers: Mystery Room on iPhone. Unfortunately, it's in Japanese. Still, the music's nice.
