Despite the fact that games based on movies and TV shows are generally distinctly average, publisher DNA Interactive is bringing a spin-off of BBC series Merlin to the iPhone.
Merlin, the Game - as it's cleverly named - will be an episodic point-and-click adventure that thrusts you into the role of the young wizard himself. You'll be embarking on a quest to aid both Arthur and Guinever, but what that quest entails is yet to be revealed.
What we do know, however, is that you'll be doing a spot of puzzle solving and having a right good old chinwag.
This, of course, isn't the first iPhone game to be adapted from a popular BBC IP, with Doctor Who: The Mazes of Time and Torchwood: Web of Lies both arriving on the App Store earlier this year.
We just hope Merlin, the Game fares better than the Doctor's adventure, which earned a middling 3/5 at review.
Merlin, the Game will be available in the first quarter of 2012.
