Two bits of news have just been released for Gameloft's upcoming multiplayer FPS, Blitz Brigade. First, there's a new gameplay trailer, which you can check out at the bottom of the article. Second, the game has been soft released in France.
For those who don't know what that means, essentially the game has been given a small scale release in a single territory to test how it works and make sure it's robust enough for a global release. It also means, thanks to some Google Translate magic, we've been able to dig up some more info about the game.
It looks like there are going to be five classes to choose from - soldier, gunner, doctor, sniper, and stealth agent (we expect that'll become secret agent or spy in the English language release) - and two different game modes - deathmatch and ground control.
There are three types of vehicles to drive and pilot, a single player campaign that lets you hone your skills without real people laughing at you, and more than a hundred missions for you to try and complete.
It also looks like the game is going to be freemium, with a currency called diamonds letting you buy new guns and outfits. These come in different bundles, with the cheapest appearing to cost $1.99, although it's hard to say for sure.
There's still no word on a worldwide release, but with the game already basically out somewhere, we wouldn't be too surprised if it makes it out globally by the end of the month. In the meantime, check out the aforementioned trailer. It might be a bit NSFW if you work with people who don't enjoy the sight of cartoon blood.
